As a translation app, In Translator only collects basic usage data and crash logs to improve the app. The basic usage data includes the source language and target language, nothing more. None of this data will be associated with the caller’s identity; this is an anonymous process.

Screen Recoding Permission

In Translator app uses screen recording for OCR translation.

When using OCR translation, it utilizes Apple’s own Vision framework to recognize text in images, as detailed here: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/vision/recognizing_text_in_images

All processing is done locally. No screenshots, screencasts, or other data will be saved or collected. Only the extracted text will be sent to the translation service.

When sending the text for translation, only the text itself is transmitted. The data will not be associated with the caller’s identity; this is an anonymous process.

After translation, the result will be saved locally. It will be automatically cleaned regularly, or users can choose to clean it as needed.
